The safety of every participant in the session is of primary importance, therefore the following policies have been developed to encourage and provide the safest environment possible.

• You are welcome to accompany your loved one throughout the session and will never be asked to leave.  Sometimes a parent/guardian will find that the client is able to have a more therapeutic experience without an audience, in which case it is at the discretion of the parent/guardian to make that determination.  If this is the case, the door to the music space will remain open to ensure the safety of both client and therapist. 
  
• Omaha Music Therapy LLC works to provide the best possible life experiences for our clients and care deeply for their well-being. We have been trained to recognize the signs of abuse and neglect, and are required by law to report to Social Services any suspected abuse or neglect of any client we care for.
• If the therapist at any time feels unsafe, they have the right to immediately terminate the session.  This includes (but is not limited to) intentional physical, emotional, spiritual harm from the patient, family, or caregiver directed at the therapist; lack of a safe environment in which to provide treatment; drug abuse; unsupervised animals; sexual advances; disrespectful behavior towards the therapist; etc.  The full fee for the service will be billed.  It will be at the discretion of therapist whether they feel safe to return after said session.  
• These policies serve as a general understanding that the client/guardian are responsible for any incidents or accidents that occur while the client is in treatment with Omaha Music Therapy LLC and the client/guardian are responsible for any injuries or incidents that occur while the OMT contractor is at your place of residence.  
• The client/guardian/facility is choosing to receive music therapy services from OMT and understands that the client/guardian/facility will be responsible for any injuries or incident that the client may sustain under any circumstances.  
• The client/guardian/facility is responsible for incidents that occur on or to OMT property.  
• The client/guardian/facility understand that they are liable for any injuries to OMT contracted therapists or instructors when they are on the property of client/guardian/facility, i.e. injuries due to faulty steps, sidewalks, falling objects in the house/facility, injuries from pets, icy sidewalks, etc.  

Non-Discrimination     

Omaha Music Therapy LLC will not discriminate based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, political affiliation or opinions, ability level, nation of origin, age or any other reason.  You can expect to be treated with dignity and respect.  We will be happy to work with any individual who can benefit from music therapy services.  This is not only the policy of OMT but of the American Music Therapy Association, as outlined in the Professional Competencies.  

Snow/Inclement Weather

Omaha Music Therapy LLC will close for snow along with Omaha Public Schools.  The only exception is if OPS chooses to close due to cold weather only (when no snow is present), in which case I will leave that up to you to decide if you would like to still have a session.

It will be at the discretion of the therapist and client/caregiver whether services may be provided via zoom or other telehealth platform.  

There will be no charge for a session cancelled due to inclement weather.

Please do not send a private friend request.  It is important to maintain this boundary between therapist and client/client family.  A private friend request will not be approved.  Thank you for understanding. 

We will always ask permission before posting pictures/stories.  However, feel free to post your own stories or pictures on the Omaha Music Therapy LLC Facebook page. 

Practicum Students and Interns

Omaha Music Therapy LLC regularly hosts practicum students and interns. Occasionally, the student will lead part or all of a given session under the supervision of the Board Certified Music Therapist. There are policies and procedures in place for the intern or practicum student including signed confidentiality forms.
